Supporting Ocean Generation

Orange Jellyfish from Ocean Generation

10% of our sales are donated to Ocean Generation, previously known as Plastic Oceans UK

Who are Ocean Generation?

Ocean Generation combines a wealth of experience in science and storytelling from Plastic Oceans UK, with the fresh energy and youth of the 'Ocean Generation Foundation'.

After raising awareness about ocean plastic pollution through the documentary ‘A Plastic Ocean’ – praised by Sir David Attenborough as “one of the most important films of our time” – they’re now focusing on Ocean Action. Ocean Generation are growing an inclusive global movement to tackle a wide range of Ocean threats and influence policy change, together.

We’re excited to join them as they launch their new vision and voice!

“We see a world where the Ocean is freed from human threats within a generation. Our ultimate goal is to restore a healthy relationship between humanity and the Ocean. Because as the first generation to deeply understand Ocean issues, we are also the last generation who can stop them. We are all the Ocean Generation.”

Ocean Generation supported by Natural Cosmetics

Why do we donate 10% of our sales?

It's worth noting that we commit to donating 10% of sales not profits to Ocean Generation. This means that for every £10 spent on Natural Cosmetics products, £1 is donated.

Donating some of a business's profits to a charitable cause is a lovely thought, but it relies on too many factors and often results in very little support getting to the charity.

For example, anyone interested in accounting will be able to tell you that many businesses are always "making a loss" in theory, to make sure that they pay as little tax as possible.

Donating profits also means that if a business is being poorly run then the charity suffers. If our business is inefficient, and not making as much profit as it could be, then that's our problem and Ocean Generation shouldn't be punished for it!

Our oceans, our water and our planet are worth fighting for - that's why we proudly support Ocean Generation via Work for Good.
